Novay represents the development of new ways to effectuate innovation, modernisation and progress, and works towards a future in which both people’s personal and work lives are increasingly supported by clever ICT applications. As Telematica Instituut, this approach has allowed us to register considerable success throughout the last eleven years, for both us and a growing number of businesses and academic/social institutions. However, because ICT-based innovation affects a much broader social and economic spectrum than the term ‘Telematica’ seems to suggest, we have chosen to adopt a new name and a clearer role.

Even as early as this spring, we predict considerable growth in this new role as catalyst for open innovation. Open innovation – involving co-operation and sharing of results, as in our eyes, this is the only way to achieve sustainable progress. In this way, Novay will apply itself more than ever to setting up and managing huge research and innovation programmes.

We remain committed to our mission: combining ICT knowledge and innovation prowess to achieve breakthroughs in how we all live our lives. In 2009 and beyond, we shall continue to make innovative contributions to this cause.
