ArchiMate Research Tree

The tree rooted here is concerned with the development of a generic set of concepts that allows a coherent modelling of enterprise architectures. The unambiguous definition of these concepts provides a proper basis for visualisation, analysis, tooling and use of these concepts.
Based on, among others, validation in a practical case and review by project partners, the first version of the metamodel has been improved in several ways. More versions of the ArchiMate metamodel will be developed iteratively. In this process, further validation together with the project partners - by means of practical cases, other partner-specific work and discussions - is crucial to guarantee the quality of the metamodel and the suitability of the concepts for the partners’ needs.
We focus on organisations that offer "information products": i.e., information-intensive organisations, in particular in the financial sector. This means that concepts to model, e.g., physical stocks and logistics are outside the scope of our metamodel.
